As this is going to be a long list, I tried not to write too much about the series in the list below because I didn’t want to give away too many spoilers. Ready to watch for some long-hour Thai dramas in Malaysia?
Other than Netflix, I can’t find any other platform able to stream Thai drama series on TV in Malaysia. There are many series found on dimsum entertainment and iQiyi but it only allow streaming on PC, mobile and tablets. I don’t have any Android TV so I don’t know if the streaming apps would work on TV.
But anyway, this post is about Thai TV series on Netflix. You can actually try to request some of the new 2021 Thai TV dramas or movies not on Netflix such as Wanthong, Friend Zone, etc.
Netflix Malaysia seldom released any Thai series/movies due to streaming rights, cost, or regional availability according to the Netflix TV shows/movies Request page.

Girl From Nowhere Season 2
Do you remember the mysterious girl named Nanno and her psychotic laugh in the first season of Girl From Nowhere? Sit back and enjoy as she’s back with a more mind-blowing thrill in Season 2. Watch Nanno in Girl From Nowhere 2 on Netflix as she tried to bring justice, exposing wrongdoings, all in the 8 episodes of the new series. Another mysterious girl with a red ribbon is making her appearance in the second season, guess you have to watch and find out who she is.
If you’re new to Girl From Nowhere, you don’t have to worry about the native Thai language because there are English subtitles.
This Thai TV love series tells the story of two women who shared the same name Ploy (played by Green Atsadaporn and Mind Waratthaya). One of the women (Atsadaporn) was the unlucky one has to go through up and down in her life. Unlucky Ploy is a remake of the Korean series Another Miss Oh.
Unlucky Ploy is entertaining to watch because the plot highlights Ploy’s naive, funny, and sad sides. Nai, who can see into the future, becomes entangled in the lives of two women.
I enjoy watching Thai Ayutthaya era TV drama series on Netflix because it allows me to learn about Thai culture and traditions. Love Destiny is a romance, comedy, and time travel story about a young archaeologist named Kadesurang. Her spirit soul was transported to the 17th century in the Ayutthaya era due to karma and placed in the body of another woman named Karakade.
When Karakade attempt to murder one of her rivals, her family resorts to a spiritual incantation to punish the murderer. As a result, Karakade is killed. On her way to hell, she meets the archaeologist’s soul (while traveling into the past) and begs her to make amends in her place after taking possession of her body.
In short, Karakade requests that Kadesurang make spiritual offerings and merits for her soul in order for her to be saved from eternal damnation.
This Thai drama series brings fun as you can watch the adventure of a modern-day Kadesurang in the body of a cruel woman from the past. Love Destiny was a popular TV series with good ratings, actors, and actresses. Some popular artists to look for in this series are Ranee Campen as Kadesurang and Karakade, Pope Thanawat Wattanaputi, Louis Scott, Prang Kannarun, and many more in the series.
There are 15 episodes with 1 hr. 50 min duration in each episode for the series, so sits tight for a time travel adventure to the ancient Ayutthaya era!
Sleepless Society Series – Insomnia, Nyctophobia, Two Pillows & A Lost Soul, Bedtime Wishes
This Thai thriller TV show features mysteries and mind-bending stories. I can’t stop watching all four Sleepless Society series on Netflix because of the exciting storyline.
From murder crimes to love conflicts, the majority of the series is entertaining to watch, with each episode attempting to draw you deeper and deeper into the dark side of the story. I tried not to spoil the mood and will only provide some highlights for each of the series below.
Insomnia – My favorite Thai actress/model Aokbab take the role of Aya, a young female model who has always had a recurring dream, which caused her to the point where she becomes confused and begins to distinguish between reality and dreams. There are 13 episodes in the series, which you should watch if you enjoy mystery-solving, twisted crime thrillers.
Nyctophobia – One of the earliest series I’ve watched, tells the story of Meena who experienced nyctophobia ever since her son died. A mysterious boy came to her house one night, telling her that he is her dead son who has come back. The boy later causing havoc in the house and Meena tries to find out who is the mysterious boy. This is a mind-twisting and thriller series that is worth watching if you like mystery solving storyline.
Two Pillows & A Lost Soul – This Sleepless Society Series consists of 13 episodes that tell the story of a lovely lecturer who is trapped in a bad marriage. She goes to a wild party one night and wakes up with a dead man.
Bedtime Wishes – One of the best of all Sleepless Society Series I’ve watched so far, this series tells the story of a woman named Nara who stayed in a resort owned by her rich boyfriend’s Rain and later finds out there is something strange that actually happened in the past. This mind-twisted dark ‘what the heck just happened‘ and the mysterious storyline is worth watching and added to the Best Thai TV Series on Netflix list.
It had a consistent storyline that never interfered with the rest of the episodes, good cinematography that gave me a mysterious thrill, well-written dialogues, and, of course, a great performance by Krit Shahkrit Yamnam and Pinky Savika Chaiyadej who dived into their characters.
Bangkok Love Stories Series – Objects Of Affection, Plead, Innocence, Hey You!
There are 4 Bangkok Love Stories on Netflix and most of the series is recommended to watch. I find it quite entertained and spent hours watching it non-stop for days. The series tells the story where the young men and women experienced affection, love, breakups, the high and low in life, etc.
It great to watch the young Thai actors and actresses giving the best in their acting. Some of the noticeable artists in other Netflix Thai Series / Bangkok Love Stories are Wanida Termthanaporn, Sutatta Udomsilp, Chanon Santinatornkul, Meiko Chonnikan Netjui and just to name a few.
Objects Of Affection – Set in Bangkok’s Ratchada district, this series follows Q-10, a mobile phone technician meets with a young woman who suffers from dissociative identity disorder and recorded murders on her phone. The fun of the story begins when the woman visited Q-10 at his shop in the shopping plaza under the aliases Jessy, Pinky, Joey, and Jenny.
Plead – An emotionally driven love story took place in Bangkok Chinatown about Tee (Chanon Santinatornkul) a blind fortune-teller and Elle (Sutatta Udomsilp). This Thai series dive into the relationship between family, friendship, love, and destiny.
Innocence – One of my favorite Bangkok Love Stories series, which showcases Thai culture, tradition, and modern life, was set in Bangkok’s urban Silom district, complete with neon lighting and crowded streets. This 13-episode series tells the stories of a group of young men and women who discover romance and experience urban life. Noticeable main role artists in the series are Praew Narupornkamol Chaisang, Nida Patcharaveerapong, Nicole Theriault just to name a few. Something to watch and fill the free time on the weekends, why not? This series was originally listed in the must-watch Netflix TV series category and also in this Best Thai TV Series list.
Hey You! – Took place in Bangkok’s Ari district, this Hey You! tells the story of a loving couple later turns rival when Belle (Wanida Termthanaporn) opens a fusion bar next to her ex-boyfriend traditional restaurant. It has become a conflict between them and start competing for each other. Kram was trying hard to get more customers to his restaurant while Belle tries to bring down his dream. Watch these 13 episodes of Thai drama series on Netflix for some ups and downs friendship and romance story.
Thong EK: The Herbal Master
Looking to have a good laugh while watching Thai TV Series on Netflix? Thong Ek is a Thai comedy series on Netflix that is highly recommended if you want to laugh out loud. This romantic comedy takes you back to the ancient times of Rama 5, which is about Thong Ek (screen played by Mario Maurer) who chases his dream to be a traditional doctor but was restricted by his grandfather.
Chaba, played by Kimberley Anne Woltemas also known as Kimmy Kimberly on IG, is a tough and fearless funny girl. She too, who aspires to be a traditional medicine doctor, later finds herself who was not showing any interest at first, starting to fall in love with Thong Ek. Among other known actors and actresses in the series are Punjan Kawin Imanothai, Namwhan Phulita Supinchompoo, and Pat Napapa Thantrakul.
I believe it is also worthy of inclusion in the Best Netflix Thai TV Series too because it was so entertaining to watch and laugh at the funny conversations and acting of Thong Ek, Chaba, Chongko, Piak, and Toon, along with the funny background sound effects. Watch this series to find out and you’ll know what I mean.
Voice (Thai Version)
Looking for some crime Thai action drama? Recommended to watch Voice Thai version on Netflix, this Thai version of the Korean remake is about a detective policewoman who worked in a call center and is gifted with perfect psycho-acoustics skills.
Captain Irin (Pancake Khemanit Jamikorn) and Aran (Andrew Gregson) work together to solve mysteries by nailing the killer and help to identify where the kidnapped women are with her great hearing skills. This is one of the best crime Thai dramas I’ve watched on Netflix with twists and turns of the storyline.
A young man tells the story of his mother pursuing a career as a chef while sharing his mother’s recipes in order to win his girlfriend’s heart. The flashback story is dated back to the 70s of the sweet and bitter life where a poor young woman named Taew makes her way through difficult stages, pursues her dream to become a popular 5-star hotel chef, and finding love. Watch Taew (Wanida Termthanaporn), Pon (Jason Young), Jom (Thanawin Teeraphosukarn) as they went through a wave of life.
Blood & Treasures
This is a 2016 Thai horror/thriller drama still worth watching on Netflix in 2021. This drama is about past life, present life, and karma that comes together taken place during the end of the Ayutthaya era. The story starts with Akkanee who is an archeologist in the present life and a warrior soldier named Khun Pra in the past life who is in love with a royal dancer named Ubon.
The royal dancer felt betrayed when Akkanee cursed her to protect the national treasure for eternity. Ubon came to the present life as Sarochinee who is rich and loves antique from the Ayutthaya period.
I would recommend watching Blood & Treasures if you like the ancient Thai Ayutthaya era just like similar to Love Destiny and Thong Ek. Blood & Treasures is full of horror, bone-chilling, and mystery-solving storylines in this 18 episodes Netflix Thai drama.
Oh My Ghost (Thai Version)
Another Korean remake of Oh My Ghost Thai version on Netflix. This Thai comedy series is about Khaopun, a wandering virgin ghost who possessed Jiew in order to seduce a chef named Artit. There are 12 episodes in this 2015 Netflix Thai TV series. Some of the popular artists in the series are Sean Jindachot, Lanlalin Tejasa Weckx, and Pango Jintanutda Lummakanon.

This movie is about Ina who got cheated by his ex-boyfriend and later hire Tower, a swindler to help her seek revenge to get her money back. This new 2021 Thai horror movie is about two doctors Dr. Vee and Dr. Kla combine science and the supernatural to experiment with the afterlife but things don’t go the way they wanted. This movie is creepy and worth watching with lights turned off! I had some goosebumps in some of the scenes.
