It is not uncommon for us to go back and watch movies from our childhood. Some of these movies might not be as good as we remember them, but other movies are just as good as we remember them.

These movies represent the types of movies that I loved as a child. I used to watch these films on videotapes and I still collect them in Blu-ray format. These are the movies that I would watch over and over again and I look forward to re-watching them again in the future.

I might be a little biased but I have watched most of the films at least 10 times and still haven’t been able to get enough of it. You can easily get a copy of the 4K Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos or DTS-X and watch as many times as you want. There are also movies below that are suitable for children and family viewing too such as The Land Before Time, Lion King, just to name a few.

You can vote for the Top 100 best Pop Culture movies of all-time here. Due to the long list, there are still many movies out there but I will list some of my big-time favorites.

The Best Movies from My Childhood That I Can Still Watch Today

The movies on this list are some of the most memorable movies that I can still watch today. If you are a child of the 80s or 90s, these movies will be a blast to watch. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of the best movies from my childhood, but these are the movies that stood out to me as ones that I could still enjoy and revisit.

Childhood movies don’t have to be all in cartoons or animated but action-packed, adventure, and fantasy movies are some of my favorite movie genres. The following is a list of the films that I have listed here:

Star Wars

Having been released on April 19, 1977, and grossing an estimated $460 million in the United States alone, Star Wars is widely considered to be one of the most successful films of all time.

The style of music in Star Wars has been compared to that of a symphony, and it is ranked as one of the most influential movie scores of all time.

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park will still be enjoyable and is my all-time favorite childhood iconic film because of the amazing special effects and unforgettable score. I still remembered I love to play the Jurassic Park game on Sega console.

The dinosaurs has become a pop culture that influences us.

The Land Before Time

This is a 1988 animated movie about four dinosaurs that go on a journey to find a new home. I love this movie because it has the best use of music in an animated movie ever and there are a lot of funny scenes in the movie as well.

Lion King

The Lion King is my favorite animated movie of all time. The music is beautiful and the story is timeless. I still love the “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” song and I always listened on cassette tape in my bedroom.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Another great action movie can say one of my top childhood movies of all time. Terminator 2 and Arnold Schwarzenegger are popular among the 80s kids.

Love the great sound effects in the movie, it was the best action-packed film of all time with no word to describe.

Rocky

Sylvester Stallone is my favorite actor and his movie Rambo too. Rocky was another one of his best movies. Rocky is the story of a boxer (Rocky Balboa) who gets a chance to fight for his own and it is a very good movie.

Independence Day

I guess anyone in the 90s will know about this movie, I like to watch Jeff Goldblum & Will Smith in this exciting Sci-fi alien invasion movie. This was one of the best alien invasion movies in the 90s I used to watch on DVD and it was so entertaining.

I still love to watch the movie in 4K Blu-ray until today and it’s one of my favourite Sci-fi and alien invasion films.

Last Action Hero

Last Action Hero is one of the best action movies of all time. It’s not just the best action-packed childhood movie, but also it has a great story that I can relate to. I like the story and the characters especially Arnold Shrwazeggar.

Last Action Hero is one of my favorite movies and I can watch it, again and again, many times.

Die Hard

Yippee ki yay! Probably the first three film series of Die Hard are my favorites childhood film I used to watch. Love the massive action-packed explosion and exchanging gun shot with villains.

Alien

Alien is one of the most watched childhood sci-fi film because the entire film trilogy are thrilling and exciting. In this film, Ripley played by Sigourney Weaver fights against an alien to rescue her crew. It is considered one of the best Sci-Fi film and it was nominated for a total of 7 awards, and won 3 of them.

Predator

I used to watch this movie again and again all day and night countless times. One of the best movies by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

It is a very good movie about a special team of soldiers that protect the planet from aliens.

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite musical film of all time. The music is romantic and beautiful. I love the “Be Our Guest” song.

I love the moment I used to watch the Beauty and the Beast Disney On Ice performance, it was magical even for an adult.

Godzilla

Not many people might like it but this was one of the first Godzilla movies that I’ve watched in the cinema. It was pretty amazing at that time. I still can recalled the foot stomp that shakes the seat in the theatre. I immediately fall in love with it and begin watching it on DVD.

It might not look the same as the actual Godzilla but it was quite entertaining for me!

Conclusion

I will never stop watching these great films and it was the best parts of childhood. I really love films like Jurassic Park, Star Wars and Terminator because they’re classic and I can watch them anytime, anywhere.

I am a big-time fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger and I’ve watched most of his movies including Last Action Hero, True Lies, Conan The Barbarian, Predator, Commando, Eraser, Total Recall, and so on.

Whenever I’m free on the weekend, I would rewatch the movie feeling happy and grateful for how technology has improved and emerged from videotapes to Blu-rays, and even streaming these childhood movies on Netflix. Also, I am able to watch the films in 4K with great sound quality when it is featured in Dolby Atmos and DTS-X sound format.

Have fun watching and let’s stay safe at home while we continue watching our favorite list of childhood movies.
