Recently, I need a better understanding of lighting photography and so I decided to attend a natural lighting photography class in KL hosted by Arif Kaser. I found out about the class via the Malaysian Photographers Community Facebook page. There are many types of photography classes available for beginners including outdoor lighting class, natural lighting class, indoor lighting class, and many more.
By attending the class, I’d learned the basics about natural and outdoor lighting. What’s good about this photography class in Kuala Lumpur is you will get to learn the theory basics, well explained throughout the class and practical tasks by shooting talents.
In the meantime, you will meet new friends, learn, and share experiences with other students. If you are looking to start photography as a hobby or building your career as a portrait photographer in Malaysia, this class is exactly the right photography class to join.
Outdoor Experience in Natural Lighting Class
It was a great experience to attend this outdoor lighting class. All you need is a mirrorless camera, a lens, and some camera gear if required. I get to learn the basics of natural lighting from Arif Kaser including the shadow, background, and subject. The information given by Arif is very detailed.
In the outdoor lighting class, we get to walk around the city to find the best spots with good natural lighting for a photoshoot. We visited some of Kuala Lumpur’s tourist hotspots including Merdeka Square, River Of Life, Central Market, and Kwai Chai Hong. It was a half-day class, it’s fun to join, meet new friends, and gained some new photography skills! By learning the lighting skills, you can then create your own dreamy portraits and shooting styles.
Learning Outdoor Lighting Using Off-Flash
At the end of the day, you will also get to learn photo editing by using Photoshop to enhance and make the photos ‘pop‘. Usually, Arif hosted his lighting class in Kuala Lumpur from 8.30 am till 6 pm and he will set a meeting point for his students before starting his photography class.
During break time, Arif helps us to review our shots and give comments/opinions so that we know what to improve and further fine-tune our lighting skills.
If you are interested to learn photography as a hobby or build a career as a wedding photographer, travel photographer in Malaysia, come and join his class.
