This might not look the best but I prefer something light and less grainy. Let’s check out more about this Kodak Portra 400 film recipe specially created for X-Trans 4 sensor Fujifilm cameras including the X-T4, X-S10, etc.

You can find the custom settings after this section and if you don’t know how to store a film recipe, do check out how to store Fujifilm custom settings for your X-Series cameras.

What is so special about this Kodak Portra 400 Film Recipe?

No doubt the Portra 400 is one of the most popular colour-negative films for film photographers and the best street & portrait Fujifilm film recipe.

This super-saturated, ISO 400 colour negative film enables you to take photos in all sorts of lighting conditions while still maintaining accurate colours. Kodak’s Portra films are manufactured by one of the oldest film manufacturers in the world and have been a top choice for professional photographers for decades.

Originally, the Kodak Portra 400 was great for street photography and portraits, but this film recipe works great as well. There is weak grain to maintain the still image quality and with a less warm tone. If you shoot the sky during the golden hour or sunny day, you will be able to get the teal tone.

There are also different versions you can find at Fujixweekly. There are also Lightroom presets that you can be applied during post-processing but what we want is to shoot straight out of the camera so we can enjoy the photography experience.

This Portra 400 film recipe is fine-tuned to not be too warm, less grainy, and lighter. It looks great and natural for portrait shots that don’t affect the subject face in a yellowish tone. If you are looking for an alternative, check out the creative version of the Portra 400 custom recipe.
