Fujifilm X-T4 Film Simulation – Cine Matte Film Recipe

Fujifilm X-T4 Cine Matte Custom Film Recipe Movie Like

I like cinematic movie colour tone, so here I’ve created a custom film recipe named Cine Matte for my Fujifilm X-T4. After shooting urban night photography with my new Fujifilm X-T4, I’ve taken a step forward and attempted to develop my own film recipe.

I was attempting to create a low-light film recipe, a warm cinematic film-like recipe and have spent a significant amount of time fine-tuning the colour tone with Fujifilm X Raw Studio.

I searched online, but it appears that no one has created any cinematic film recipes for Fujifilm X Series cameras before, so I gave it a shot, and here I have my own version of the Cine Matte film recipe starting with the base Fujifilm X-T4 Film Simulation Eterna Bleach Bypass and any latest X-Trans 4 sensor cameras with the film simulation can use this recipe.

My Cine Matte film recipe can be shot in SOOC JPEG and later edited using Photoshop for a more cinematic matte look, which is an additional step (if you like to). I’ve been shooting trial and error at night with warmer Kelvin White Balance and start fine-tuning it until I get the golden color I’ve wanted.

Feel free to reset the Sharpness to default if you want sharper still images, as it altered the image sharpness to look old film-like. I have also experimented with the White Balance slightly on the red and blue shifts. This is probably not the same as other custom recipes based on vintage films that you can find online.

Urban photography required a street photographer to shoot in a rapid-paced, so I have to set the Clarity set to 0 or normal, so there are no pauses in between and ready to take another shot. My custom cinematic film recipe is based on my preferred colour tone, and it may not appeal to everyone.

I was trying out the Ambience Priority White Balance which is a new feature found on the Fujifilm X-T4 and combining it with a custom WB Shift but decided to go with Kelvin WB to create this Cine Matte recipe. If you love night photography, it is best to match it with a diffusion filter for the cinematic glow.
